Unbelievable mexicana

As I said before, dude stopped growing. Shortly before he did, I scored some wild mexicana prints. These were given to a bio major friend of his. This guy did a multispore innoculation last thursday. The spores began germinating by saturday evening, and yesterday he noticed a sclerotia forming which is already .5 in long by maybe .125 in wide. This is just absolutely amazing IMO. He will isolate this sclerotia and try to get fruits from the same isolate. If this all works out, hopefully we will be able to distribute some prints to the OMC and have a more diverse choice than the 2 available strains out there. Wish him luck.

After talking to him, I find that he may have eggagerated the size a bit. It is about .25 by a little over an .125", and is growing right up against the side of the petri. It was a multispore innoc, and the mycelium (supporting this sclerotium) has only grown to maybe .75" in diameter. There are other areas of mycelium growing all over the plate, but this is the only one with a nice orange tint, and has a baby stone.
I also forgot to add. The innoculation was on PDA. For some reason the MEA he tried hasn't germinated at all. I think he may have carmelized the sugars.
He does know what to look for. Look for my previous posts in the pics forum containing the word tamp. Dude has grown both stones and loads of fruits, some of which there are circulating prints in trhe OMC. The guy doing it now is a mutual friend, who also knows what he is doing.
I wasn't really planning on posting much anymore, but this just floored me. Since dude is not growing them, I don't know if we will be able to get a pic. I'm sure there will be some at some point, just not now.

Is this A strain mexicana? If so, how did he get them to fruit? I need details on fruiting A strain, and nobody seems to have any answers.

This is a never before seen "strain". It is from a couple wild prints I received from someone living in Mexico. I don't know if he wants to be named now, so I won't.
Mexicana can be fruited the same way as tampanensis. If you look at my old posts under the contaman handle, you will find a wonderful thread to answer the questions. Una is not the only person who knows how to grow, altough he is a wonderful grower. In fact his idea for making a liquid innoculant is the best I know of, and his grain tek also works wonders!
Both of the things you stated are a part of the procedure dude used a while ago which are also brought up in the contaman tamp thread.
