To avoid any condensation on your petri lids, wait til the substrate has cooled more, but is still liquid enough to pour. You might not get quite as many dishes out of your agar, but it cuts down on the chance of contams from condensation.------------------ night train

as far as condensation slowing growth, i have found it not to be a problem at all. i use jars w/ filter disks and keep them right-side-up. condensation forms and can sometimes add to the possibility of contams, but as far as i can tell it is no big deal what so ever. -daniel.

do yer dishs in your oven on low temp the warm up draft keep`s out contam`s and will dry yer dishs also use half as much malt/agar as suggested they tell you to use way more than needed so you`ll buy more after you have a healthy strain use 7cc. hydrogen peroxcide to a quart agar will end any contam problems brite blessings STELLARBLUE

Petris + Condensation=okay...I get some condensation on my petris and have never really had a problem. With indoor prints I've had a 100% success rate with my petris. Admitedly my girlfriend steam cleans the carpet every 3 days, and I live in a dry state... so maybe that's it . ootw.

Nice idea about the agar stellarblue, are you sure u can dilute so much? You wouldn't want to prevent proper gelling.I find that storing them upside down works well. I turned some over for about 6 hours and guess what, condensation.
