Hey Moe,
I thought you got a new agar set-up for christmas, you even said you heard your girly order it. if you do have agar abilities, you need to use them. We will help.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

i use jars with filter disks. i have only experimented w/ cubensis so i dunno about the higher strains, but the filter disks work great. in fact they work a little too great for me: i dont have a refirgerator that i can use for storing mushroom stuff in so i just let my agar jars keep growing. since there is proper gas exchange, the mycelium coats the *entire* jar sides and after a while it even fruits on its own (even in a dark incubator). its kinda neat but kinda annoying.

Hey Rebelmoon, do you also use plastic lids? And did you drill a hole and how big (3/8 or 1/2?). I got the plastic lids from Fungi Perfecti but I didn't get filter disks. Another supplier I found sells filter plugs, you drill a hole and it stuff it in, they are 3/8" or 1/2" by about 1/2" long. They are also much cheaper but I don't want to cheap out if filter disks are superior.

yeah i use plastic lids from the ball/kerr canning supply store (way cheaper than fp's product, you might even wanna retunr yer order and go w/ the canning company cuz the lids are identical). i dont have a drill but if you go to an auto shop you cab get them to drill a 3/8th inch hole in the lid for a few dollars. i have a 3/8th inch hole but i doubt that a larger one would be a problem. i dunno about plugs as ive only used disks. anyone else?
