losing potency?

one of my cats ate 2 1/2 dry g's of some shrooms that my dog grew... and didnt trip =\? i was wondering what could have been the reason that the shrooms might have lost their potency? he picked them when they were pretty mature (about 1 day after the veils broke). The caps were pretty blue.. did he pick them too late? he dried them using a fan and stored them in tupperware at room temprrature for about a week before they were consumed. any ideas? or did he get ripped off?

Fan drying does not fully dry shrooms. It is quite possible they degraded while stored in the container for a week.
