Thanks for that info. psilocybin_qualm.
Tried again at the weekend. Had about 20. Again a fun high. I explored things loads in my mind and was very chatty when I met my friends later. Nothing more though.
Went hunting again today. Didn't find much at my previous location. Disappointing. Especially, as after my last two 'trips' I think I need to find a lot. Went onto the golf course next door and it was fantastic!
Not the most relaxing shroom picking experience (I clearly wasn't a golfer!), but good finds. I include my unsorted and sorted pics below.
At the moment (undried) they weight 100 grams.
I'll dry them out and I've got an airtight container to put them in.
Oh, and if any one needs any golf balls, just ask!

Don't leave them all stuck together for any length of time. Place them on newspaper with NONE OF THEM TOUCHING EACH OTHER otherwise mould may appear. I think people just dry them out if they are going to keep them for any length of time as wet they will rot quickly.
20 seems alot compared to your Amsterdam mushies but I bet they were a lot bigger? I have 30 for a mild trip, 50 for a medium and 80 for a very strong one but I wouldn'r recommend this if you have no like-minded friends or anyone to watch over you.
You are doing right testing the water but personally I'd never have less than 20-25.
If you are going to be storing for any length of time you need to think about the two things that break down your mushies potency: water and oxygen.
Believe me there is a mountain of info on this site about this and you will have to do some serious reading. If you haven't got loads though I'd just make sure you have them within a couple of months and keep airtight in the freezer if you can.
I used to keep dried mushrooms in a bag in the freezer and wondered why come a few months down the line they were a lot weaker... well I've learnt from here that oxygen can pass easily through plastic bags so an airtight glass jar is best. I've also learnt air-drying mushrooms doesnt remove all the moisture and you really need to put them with some desiccant (i.e. sillica etc) to remove the last of the moisture. Lastly you need to replace the air in your jar or whatever with CO2 or such-like to prevent oxydisation.
This is my first season learning all this and there are many more experienced than me on here. Get using the search button top right!
If youve not got loads, dried best you can in an airtight container in a cool dark place is prob your simplest and best bet.

Thanks guys.
Well, I did spread them out a bit to dry, but I've now taken your advice and separated them completely. I want to store them, for sure. Maybe for months.
I'll put them in my airtight container once dried. Do you think I can put in a little sillica package in with them? I'm sure I can find some sillica in an old show box (assuming I'm thinking about the right thing). Sillica is poisonous, though right?
Thanks for your amount to take advice, UK Explorer. I'll bare that in mind. Yeah, obviously not as strong as the ones you get in Amsterdam. I wonder what type of shrooms they were?!
I was just thinking: I picked them from a golf course. For all I know, the golf course may use fertiliser. Anyone had any problems picking shrooms from potentially 'treated' grass/soil?

About 5 of the ones I picked looked, well, a bit skanky. When they were first picked one of them had (what I assume was) a little blue mould on it. You can just about see it in the photo next to another grotty looking one.
I don't want to waste any, but do you think I should throw them out and not eat them?
They look better now they are dried out, but you can still see that small blue bit on that one particular shroom.

My experience is that the libs that i collected myself are in general more potent then the shrooms that i have bought in dutch smartshops. Even stronger then the 'hawaians' aka pan cyans.
Liberty caps are among the most potent psilo's in the world for that matter and can contain up to 2% psilocybin.

they are really strong but people think they are not because you need 20/30 or whatever. You have to bear in mind their weight and size. Pound for pound they are one of the strongest.
Silica gel packets is the right thing yes, they are only poisonous if you eat. Keep in its packet and it will be fine amongst your libs.
A crude way I have read to get rid of the oxygen in your container is to put one of them little candles (you know in a little silver cup/tray that people have round their bath etc) light it and put the lid on. The candle will burn till it has used up all the oxygen and leave CO2 in its place. Do this every time you open/close the tub.
With a silica packet and being store in a cool dark place (freezer for me!) your libs should last well.
Them manky libs may have been maggot infested. Many will tell you to toss them as as the maggots faeces contains toxins but tbh a couple shouldnt do you any harm, ive always had a couple in there.
Dunno about the fertiliser thingy, I have read about that somewhere though, I think it was a 'normal' mushroom pickers guide which warned against golf course picking because of the sprays used... the problem is washing your libs is unadvisable as it will wash away some of the good stuff. Ive never picked on a golf course though so not needed to read up on it too much.

Well, it has been going quite well. I've been on another hunt and found heaps more. Although, many of them had a maggot hiding under the cap. Even the nice fresh looking ones. So, I had to throw a lot out.
Big thanks to UK Explorer. Your advice has helped me out a lot. Thanks to everybody who has contributed - it's all good stuff.

I was not able to use the candle method (I think the name of the ones you suggest is 'tealights'. I know what you mean, anyway) as I could only buy plastic containers and I didn't want to melt them! Also, I don't have access to a freezer so I am keeping them under my bed. I have thrown a couple of silica packets in there though. I hope this will be enough to keeping them from going mouldy.
I do feel sick after I eat them. I've been reading around this site and notice that it is a common problem. I might try one of the tea recipes (although, I'm a bit concerned that I'll loose some of the 'goodness' of the mushrooms when I strain the tea.
I also read taking them with ground ginger can hold back the sick feeling a little.

Are you sure the ones you have drying are all liberty caps??
Some of them look questionable to me. I'm no expert but they seem too "round" to be libs...

I'm fairly sure... but I'm no expert either!
