Survived Verticillium, but ... (look at the pics)
    #921255 - 09/30/02 10:15 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

Hi, I wrote the topic "contamination in the terrarium" and said that some pics wil follow. The shrooms do perk up but now I'm more than worried about the dark spots on the cap of the shrooms.

Is this another contamination?
Is it over? Do I have to destroy them?
thanx

THose spote are bacteria, due to your over wet casing.

DO NOT EAT THEM FRESH

Can we have a close up of the stems?? I bet they have brown streaks?

Good luck

On the stems:

On the cap: wet spot bacteria, nothing too serious, see above post

The browning is verticillium.
The caps show signs of bacterial blotch/contamination.
Your shrooms have recovered , although not completely, as vert. is probably in the substrate.
There is a very dark patch on the largest shroom, this looks like rot/bb.

You need to drop your humidty right down now, to 80%.

I am not sure if I would eat those, especially fresh. You may be OK if you dry them, lets see more progress, a pic just before harvest.

Good luck

Hi.
I got one short question (I know it's not the right forum, but i think I don't have much time).
Only a few of the shrooms are opening their caps.
Is it time for them to be cut - can some of them be cut sperately or should I cut all of them at once?

hope there will be a lucky end - tell me if there are any risks to eat them.
should i dry them without the use of warmth (CaCl)?
