should i birth these ??
    #920927 - 09/30/02 05:29 PM (23 years, 2 months ago)

Alright - these jars have been colonizinf for over 2 weeks and some are all colonized except the tops look like there is still some substrate just around the top not colonized as shown in the picture. Is there anything that can be done to get the tops colonzied or should I just birth them and use the colonized part? I have usually only had problems with getting the bottoms colonzied, but now all the bottoms are done but the tops seem to show a little still. Or should I keep them in there for a longer time? Thanks.

If the substrate isn't completely colonized, and you HAVE to birth them now, you can birth them and scrape off the uncolonized part. But if the tops not colonized then the middle may not be as well. My advice, wait until its completely colonized.
