    #9203779 - 11/07/08 06:18 PM (15 years, 5 months ago)

Every time i trip the first few hours are very introspective but then at the end my "Ego" just gets attacked from all sides
Is every trip like this?

if you fight the effects of the mushrooms you'll have a bad trip

Maybe you need to eat more to rid yourself of your ego.

Have you ever heard of an "ego death"?  Mushrooms have a way of dissolving ones ego, it is a very hard thing to let go of, it's all we have known.  Have you taken a large dose before (5g dried)?

i used to get so anxious and scared on the comeup, but recently I had a great trip in the woods where I just let it happen and became an observer, and I haven't had any anxiety with mushrooms since.

the mindfuck is a beautiful thing if you learn to love it, you're just having trouble letting your ego be softened.

If you're getting too anxious, try taking a small benzo dose before the trip, it really makes for a good mind set going into it, and should wear off by the time you're peaking with a shorter-acting one like ativan or xanax

*I like mushrooms much more than lsd, so not everyone thinks that.

Once you take a large dose, you'll understand what mushrooms are all about.  You'll really understand the term "letting go" once you take the plunge.  You either fight them or give in to them completely.  I highly suggest giving in and letting go, completely.

over 2g's is a good first mushroom dose, because with medium > large doses you dont have a choice but to let go

*if you get angry at mushrooms for giving you mindfuck it's only going to get worse since you are going to go into your next trip expecting it.

i'm not fighting it, i actually try to go deeper.
I just want to know if i'm always going to face this when i trip
I dont mind doing it, i actually enjoy it, and i believe this is another way of learning about myself.

If you want to stay with smaller doses, look into meditating or at least listen to some meditative music, alone or with someone you can sit and be silent with for a while.  If it is nice out, being outside, comfortably, can make your trip much more meaningful.  As long as you keep your respect for them though, all will be good.

Remember, there are no "bad trips", only difficult ones.  You should spend time after the trip reflecting on what it was you learned.

when the mindfuck gets bad, just put some headphones on and zone out to some good music

the problem is i cant do that
when something comes to my head that i feel like i could learn something about myself from it, its hard for me to let go, no matter how bad it gets, i dont let it go, i feel like if i try to put some music on it even annoys me because it wont let me think about that anymore, i get obsesed trying to figure out why is that thought troubling me so much and after i come to a conclusion i feel great and i move on but meanwhile i hold on so tight that an hour may pass and i'm still trying to figure the same thing out. If i dont pay atention to it, i feel like i'm wasting an oportunity to learn something, but i guess i'll try focusing on something else if i dont feel like facing something at the time.

Sounds like you may be having trouble with so-called thought loops.
Work it through if you can, or zone out...it's your choice really.
