I love the Beatles more than anything I think. I honestly have "Love" for them....

Is that creepy?

Now that's pretty damned debatable.

For sure debatable. but would you agree that if The Beatles were removed from history in a "Back to the Future" way. Would you think all music would sound different?

Is it because all there songs sound the same? That's the biggest reason I dislike them

I'm with ya Linux.  The Beatles have had the
biggest impact on music since Beethoven.
Although not my favorite band, i love them
very dearly and music would be nothing like
it is today without them.

And for the dead haters, all i can is that you're
missing out on some amazing music but it's
in your total opinion to not like it.

I seriously don't like the Beatles.  I've fucking tried I really have.  I've given it my best shot and whatever supposedly makes them fucking superhuman completley evades me...

That assumes I like the direction music took with the Beatles influence.
And that's why it's debatable.

Does that mean you like the 50s better than the 70s?

I couldn't say.
I like jazz from that time period more than anything else, and that was the declining days of jazz, and I think that's largely due to popular music and how it developed (which can be largely associated with the Beatles.)

I also believe that we wouldn't have anything like the concept of pop stars and pop music that so many people here hate without them. Of course it's completely possible that another band would have filled that void.

I really don't hate the Beatles, and I've come to retract my previous feelings of them being overrated. I enjoy some of their music, but I find many MANY more things far more enjoyable.

Jazz is extremely impressive music and definitely
one of the most technical styles of music but as
far as having an impact on future music being
produced I think it pales in comparison to the Beatles.
