Do a search.
You have literally hundreds of posts dealing with skeptics--can you provide a link?
And yeah, obviously there's going to be more skeptics than believers. (That is, until the Skeptic Cleansing of 2009 starts... )

I think there are many many many many many more believers than real skeptics.

Dunno, really depends upon what the belief in question. If by skeptic you mean someone who believes in nothing, then I agree. But do more people believe in telepathy or disbelieve?

So if something only happens spontaneously, how is someone supposed to do it on command in a laboratory??
Not necessarily on command, but it would have to be in settings that could be completely monitored to account for any extraneous factors - full surveillance could replace coming to the white-walled, coated-clipboard-toting-scientist-manned "Laboratory." Hopefully these spontaneous events happen with some regularity.

H'okay, so the deadline's up for the contest and not a single person successfully guessed the word or the object.
The word was: fortuitous and the object was: a Cross.

I thought about submitting the word "fart" which is sort of close. I also thought that if I did submit a word, I'd point out that I did not believe that I was right.

Interesting. You and I both chose words that started with "f" just like the real word. That proves it. I think what probably happened is that there was some kind of disturbance in the force. When "fart" came to my mind, I was overcome by a sensation of nausea. Must have been some kind of ripple in the force and it translated to you but you sensed the word wrong.
