I saved one.

I was walking home from work when I spotted a mushroom covered in snow so I had to save it . I picked it out. I took the cap off put it on paper and I am in the process of making a spore print. It smells like a reguler mushroom from the store. Its cap is 2cm across its stem is 3cm long. I flicked the side of the cap a couple times and in seconds I got a grey patch (is that a bruise?). I live in Salmon Arm, B.C. Canada. I found it in grass (when I first saw the grass a week ago it was shorter) it has two scratch marks on the top. It is 1-10C (40-50 F I think) It is a pretty plain mushroom, It is arced on the inside and the gills are brown. Making the spore print now. And Ill answer any questions I can. Thank you for your time and help.

I was looking for anyother info on shroomery and I got "Clitocybe dealbata" from http://www.pfc.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/cgi-bin/matchmaker/. Its a 93% match but its not right. That has white gills this has brown and its not funnel shapped. And I found out to cure yourself if you get poisened with it is to find Nightshade (bella donna) and eat half a berry (also poisen but less deadly.
Still can't figure out what this is.

I don't know where you heard that from but DO NOT TRY IT!!! Deadly Nightshade is called deadly for a very good reason, one leaf chewed and swallowed has enough poison(can't remember the name of it) in it to kill a number of adult males by causing a massive heart attack. While it's true that a derivative is used in the medical industry, that's with a lot of scientific processes that isolate the specific chemical and is used in very minute dosages. The toxicity of the plant will vary from plant to plant. It's best to never eat a mushroom unless you are 100% sure of it's identification, especially if it might be a deadly/near deadly one.

belladonna wont save u from chemicals which eat away ur liver with every pass
the only thing thats been reported to work is milk thistle.
and still, dont test it.
NEVER eat an unidentified mushroom, period.

One berry from night shade won't kill you (unless your VERY dehydrated) Two will.
I used to make night shade tea from small amounts of its roots, mint, and a bit of poppy. (for experianced tea, and belladonna users only)

As I stated, the toxicity will vary from plant to plant. You could "possibly" eat a berry from one plant and be fine and then eat another berry from a different plant years later and drop dead as a door nail. You would be gambling with your life. It just isn't worth the risk.

I am going to eat 2 leaves and half a berry. I know were a plant is. I expect to trip balls. Don't worry about me or tell me not to, ill be fine. I still want to know if that mushroom is edible. The mushroom has been on paper for 2 hrs is it safe to say there is spore prints or should I wait for another bit?
Edit: Walked down the road and got two leaves. Making tea now. Also Clitocybe dealbata's only antidote is atropine. Nightshade has atropine.

Its ok to eat a tiny bit of belladona / deadly nightshade. I know a guy who is actually pretty normal and he puts datura seeds on the top of his weed.
And it is a good cure for muscarine. If I was experimenting with possibly active Inocybe or Mycena species I would definitely want to have some around.
The main toxin in Inocybe and Mycena is muscarine, though there are several blue staining species that contain psilocybin. But also some toxic species that don't stain blue but just are blue. It would be crazy to get poisoned and then be able to smoke the antidote in the form of datura seeds.

I think the operative word is pretty.
I always enjoy the trip reports of Datura users, especially the part about the hospital and running around nekkid.

anyway.......win, i dont wanna seem like a dick, but, dude, wtf you're not a doctor. its not wise to poison yourself, then try to dose yourself with a homemade antidote made out of another poison. seriously, who does shit like that

The mushroom isn't an Ivory funnel. I still don't know what it is. If it was a Ivory funnel I would take belladonna as a antidote (if I ate it).
Anyways after 8 hours I got a REALLY faint spore print. It has hundreds of lines and it goes in a circle and its brown. Also it made a wet brown ring (watery)
Oh and now I am tripping a bit on bella donna. I tried to eat some soup with a fork but I kept dropping the fork. Then I find out there is no fork.

If you take the time to dust off _every_ leaf and berry (though I don't see any in that pic) it looks really nice.
