Good ones. I'm glad you got them before they decayed.

I had a brilliant idea the other day. On the way back from pickn weilii, why not hold the caps out the window? I mean seriously, how awesome would it be to be able to see all these spores you let out your window produce huge flushes in peoples yards, on the sides of the roads on the way to your spot. I think it would help spread weilii very well. Just a thought, but everyone should do it. but be smart about it. don't show them to people, just cup them in your hand and hang it out. the pressure of the air flow will push the spores out and into the air! WEEEEEEEEEEE!
HAHAAHa! Chauvinistic thoughts rocks.

Weiliiiiiii is known to have found some all the way up to and including the beginning of December, if conditions are right.

That is EXACTLY the idea of it! And way better than apples! I have tried it with pot seeds, but big bushy plants are harder to conceal during growth and harvest, but weilii? Oh yeah, jackpot. spread the spore!! NOW! and later.

Yeah December 15th to be exact, they were short and had extremely thick stipes.

I have seen LK post sum December finds as well, gumby has posted some late season finds as well.

The pine straw patches or patches that have lots of debris covering them are the better ones to check late in the season, i think the debris covering them (pine needles, sticks, dead grass, hay) offer sum protection from the elements and keep the mycelium in conditions that favor fruiting.

Sprouts habitat looks the same as mine and yours mister nelson.

Notice all the small sticks/plants covering the fruits, i love habitats like this.

They tend to fruit longer in colder months. How longs the PNW season?

i know i could go ask in the pnw thread but im irie and cant move

yea, I think that specific type of terrain; small sticks, plants, leaves, retains moisture and allows the mycelium to feed off it... just a theory

I haven't seen any sign of growth for a week or so on any of my patches. It's got to be getting close.

I thought the same, except it seemed to have a boost of strength around the beginning of August. usually I get my biggest flushes at the end of June. but this year, it has been very constant in the fall season. for me, this year has been year of the grass patches. my pinestraw patches only fruited three times this year, compared to two years ago, the nuber of times this patch fruited was hard to keep up with. I think they are evolving and adapting to better fulfill their needs.
definately a great species of psilocybe to keep touch with. Seems that there is always something to learn with them.

Not sure about your area but we've gotten a bit of rain today. It's been slow on and off drizzle but its been doing it for a while now and everything outside is all wet. Hopefully it'll keep doing this for another several hours then stay warm for a little bit.

I feel myc. growth happening right now. go stand outside. if you were a mushroom would you grow? I would. About thirty feet tall. i would pick blue passerbys and eat them to see if anything changed in my perspective.
