'And in Arkansas, gays and lesbians suffered another defeat, as a proposed ban on unmarried couples adopting or providing foster care for children passed with 57 percent voter approval'
We just want them to not be able to call it marriage, because they're diff..... NO! FUCK YOU!! You want to strip their rights and segregate them like the fucking white supremacist progeny you all are! You're fucked, and your logic is fucked, you're all a bunch of little jim crows running around fucking people for being different than you.
Just wait for all this shit to start coming around in California. Its the first step in a series that seeks to ATTACK gays and lesbians, because their behaviors DIFFER from the religious ideals of these fundamentalist cro-magnotards.
Seriously, if you voted yes on this.... Fucking congratulations on taking a step backwards in our democracy for the religious fucking bullshit propaganda youve been force fed since childhood, or for whatever redneck retard reasons you had. Fuck yourself, you fucking prick.

This may seem a little elitist or whatever, but I've always seen my fellow Californians as more enlightened and chill, with a more "Counter-culture" vibe than other places in the US. (Not that that has any bearing on how I treat people from other places- It's just personal experiences) I'm disappointed.

I'm so sick about this. It's 2000 fucking 8, and we as a country have learned NOTHING. This was the most blatantly discriminatory piece of legislation I could ever imagine going onto a ballot...and it fucking passed. ELIMINATES the RIGHT of homosexuals to MARRY. this is one of the most basic human rights ever conceived. From the beginning of time, ANYONE could get married. Even fucking SLAVES could get married, but here we are, in 2000 fucking 8, a majority of californians voted to strip rights away from a group of people because their lifestyle is different.
FUCK YOU people. and that IS hateful.

TBH marriage isn't a natural human right. It's a state-religious right. Either way, saying one group can and one group can't is completely unconstitutional.

I agree completely with you and mickdawg666,and anyone else who sees through the bullshit of this prop(aganda) 8. As a gay person I am thoroughly sickened by the money that was raised to do this. There are MUCH better things to do with money than this.We need progression not recession.

right, because republicans normally do great in cali
Their govener is a republican. It's a rather diverse state. Though I don't think it'll pass, it's still a possibility. Arnald is rather moderate though...well, I'm assuming they voted for him for things other hten his career.

dude, it passed.
I went to a couple of rallies against 8, and here are 2 enormous signs that were proudly being flaunted by yes on 8 supporters. Quoted:

"Failing to protect marriage will legalize and encourage sodomy on children."

You should have followed those people home, gotten their address, and mailed gay porn to them. The man of the house would get kicked out and know a little of how it feels to be discriminated against.

Sorry I am going to take the other side....... What pisses us off is the fact that the GAYS have protested and gotten laws passed ,such as {my number one complaint} its a hate crime to call you guys names ,you know ,stupid childish names like school kids do,now its a felony hate crime to call you a schoolyard name .
If you really wanted to marry ,maybe you should have spent more time on that instead of keeping everyone from calling you names.
What makes you better than me ,its not illegal to call me names,I get called names all the time.
You dont see me dressing a certain way as to pronounce my straightness, walking around letting everyone know I stick my peter in women, why do you have to flaunt it.
Maybe you should have been fighting for things that really mattered ,instead of a victory of any measure.
Basically it boils down to Cali let it slide, untill you guys got out of hand and flagrant with it and offended the straight people.
Basically you guys brought the heat on yourself, now its time to reap what you have sowed.
I was a closet stoner for years and I kept a nice cover going too as to not tip off the others to my actions ,because I did not want to be treated any different than a non stoner.I am still wary of letting this info out and I do not flaunt it,because I do not want to be looked at that way. Now if I was to wear pot leaf shirts down at the beach, talk in classic stoner talk,I would be putting out a image,a image that did not get me what I wanted as a matter of fact ,it would hurt my cause to be soo flagrant with it........................see my point.
Would it be acceptable to have a felony hate crime for calling me a stoner ?????

what a bullshit argument
first of all, i'd be curious to see some source as to your claiming its a felony charge to call them "fags" i assume is what you mean.
secondly, I'm pretty sure plenty of time has and will continue to be spent on the fight to gain equal rights for gay couples. the bullshit religious propgandist fucktards spent tens of MILLIONS of dollars on the campaign against them.
Your statement about them "flaunting" their gayness just proves to me your ignorance and straight up discomfort with gay people. This argument is COMPLETELY irrelevant, seeing as its their right do dress and talk however the fuck they want.
Cali let it slide? Out of hand a flagrant? Are you sure you dont mean they offended the small minded intolerant douchebags? I'm perfectly straight and never have I been, and nor can I see a circumstance where, I would be offended by a gay person based on their outfit or how "gay" they walk or talk.
And in the end you're essentially saying that even if you're gay, and wish to openly express that, they should pretty much just stay in the closet? Have you considered that maybe it's bullshit that one should have to feel weird about wearing a pot leaf shirt? Just as your entire argument is total bullshit?
My question to you is what makes YOU better than any gay person? Because it seems to me that you feel that way.

Sorry bro. It's not just the religious right that is against gay marriage. Blacks also particularly dislike the idea.

Anyone can get married, but I don't see why they have to have the state recognize it. Tax reasons?
I'm really oblivious to this whole thing and don't think it's really that big of a deal. From an economic standpoint... think of how much more gay people will spend on a wedding.
