I'm High

I dont know but all day i have been feeling weird, more happy than usual. Tonight i went and smoked alot bud with a buddy.
We both tripped out real bad. I had so many realizations or cleaning out of old thoughts it gave me a lot of anxiety. i realized that so much that i had thought i knew was in fact not the whole truth, it was perceptions that i thought i knew the truth that created my reality.
I realized that to see the truth you have to be quiet every second, to feel love and happiness. Most of the thoughts that i get when i smoke weed or normally as well that i thought were true were not necassarily flase but i was blocking higher truths by holding onto old ones. I cant stress how important it is to accept that mybe there is something that you dont know that can change everything, it totally changed my perceptions.
i think i just repeated myself.
I realized that a return to innocense is what is needed. to feel like a child again, oh yes that would shurely change the world.
If you feel at all trapped in your mind p.m. me cause i would like to exchange ideas with you.

Yeah I'll say.
My remark to you about loss of innocence in the other thread was made without reading this thread.
Very strange and Vibrant is right.
Innocence, once lost, can never be regained.

I disagree. I think innocence can be regained after it is stripped away by the harsh cruelty of polarized reality. A lesson in humility is always good.

You gave up too early. We'll work together to reform the inner child within all. It is possible. I recommend daily a dosage of sunshine, friends, playtime, and laughter.

We all have an inner child but even those that are able to express it still have lost the innocence they once had. It is called growing up.
Read how I defined innocence in the other thread and it may clear this up.

Growing up has nothing to do with innocence. Although they are sometimes associated with one another because most equate losing innocence with gaining maturity. You defined innocence as:
in?no?cence n. 1. The state, quality, or virtue of being innocent, as: a. Freedom from sin, moral wrong, or guilt through lack of knowledge of evil. b. Guiltlessness of a specific legal crime or offense. c. Freedom from guile, cunning, or deceit; simplicity or artlessness. d. Lack of worldliness or sophistication; naivet?. e. Lack of knowledge or understanding; ignorance. f. Freedom from harmfulness; inoffensiveness.
Using this definition, one who is free from harmfulness, or sin, could be considered innocent. I do not think that knowledge of a sin equates to loss of innocence. One can be aware of evils, and avoid using them, to acquire innocence. One can be desensitized and pure evil and still gain a sense of innocence and purity within, cogitate on it, and expand upon it. I speak from experience.

The disconnect is the different definitions we are using. In the sense you are using it it can be construed as true. The same as the way I am using it. It is clearer in the other thread.
Yes, innocence can be used to define children because they haven't learned the cultural taboos. Once they have learned them they are impossible to unlearn.
Did you read the other thread?

Yes I did, what I am saying is that taboos don't necessarily destroy innocence. They can create mental barriers and dim the light of innocence, but the light does not burn out, and it can be rekindled.

I'm in between on this. I believe that it is possible to heal you inner child. It is possible to comfort that part of yourself and come to terms with things that are hard to accept, however, I do not believe it is possible to un-learn something. When you are a child and have yet to experience violence, hate, death, or any other tough concept, it is far simpler to feel safe and at peace. If this is what you mean by "innocence" than I don't believe you can regain it in the same sense, although you can reasses the world and find a way to feel safe in it despite any negative factors.

That is only true if you use your definition. There is a way of using the word that means other than what you are saying. That does not mean you are wrong in your opinion, it only means that we are equivocating.
If the loss of innocence can be defined as a knowledge of taboos we certainly can say that innocence can be lost. There is no other way to see it or say it.
This does not mean that we cannot live in inner peace but it does mean that once you know what evil is you never forget it. If you did you wouldn't know whether you were innocent or not, would you? The only way you can know that you are in the state of innocence, as you define it, is to know and understand the opposite. Hence, my definition is valid and so is my statement that innocence can be lost and never regained.
If this is clear we can proceed.
Cheers,
