What if...
    #918049 - 09/30/02 12:49 AM (14 years, 2 months ago)

... as our generations continue to evolve one step further as that of our elders, our brains begin to process more familiarly with its environment, thus we attain mindsets of todays mid-aged folk, while in our youth.... um, this seemed like a cooler concept 5 minutes ago .. im really fried. Peace to all!

actually... i've been thinking about this for a while now. there just seems to be something intelligent and a little more advanced in kids these days then what i remember things being like... i dunno.

and for the last couple of years i've felt kind of like i am picking up where my father left off. i seem to have all of his understanding (some of them needed tossed out though ) and now i am expanding that and adding to it.

>where my father left off

that doesn't sound right, he's not quite dead yet
he's just old and pretty much set where he is going to be when his time comes.

"there just seems to be something intelligent and a little more advanced in kids these days then what i remember things being like."

Yeah, it's called loss of innocence. :frown:

in?no?cence n. 1. The state, quality, or virtue of being innocent, as: a. Freedom from sin, moral wrong, or guilt through lack of knowledge of evil. b. Guiltlessness of a specific legal crime or offense. c. Freedom from guile, cunning, or deceit; simplicity or artlessness. d. Lack of worldliness or sophistication; naivet?. e. Lack of knowledge or understanding; ignorance. f. Freedom from harmfulness; inoffensiveness.

Basically I am not talking about knowledge as much as I am talking about not knowing the ways of the world.

Children are guileless and have simplicity that adults lack. Yes, sorry to say even those who have eaten mushrooms. If you have ever had the experience of watching a child closely and see the purity they have you know what I mean. They are unaware that saying things like, "Gee Lady, why are you so fat?" is an uncomfortable thing to say. Once we learn that certain taboos are in place we never forget them. Now you and others may disagree but that is only some ego justification for what you desire. This truth is incontrovertible.

Yes, you are talking about a different kind than I am.  That is it.

I agree with your statement when innocence is defined that way.
