Yeah that's nuts how cold compressed gas cans can shoot out if upside down.

Hmmm, I wonder why being upside-down makes a difference? Is it a pressurised gas inside, or a liquid?

There is a liquid inside that boils at like -45 deg C. Of course, in the can, it is so pressurized that its boiling point rises to room temperature. There is no tube inside the can, it just vents pressurized vapor from the air space on top of the liquid. As the pressure decreases, the liquid starts to boil off and produce more vapor. The phase change from liquid to gas absorbs energy and the can starts to get cold. Theoretically it can get as cold as the boiling point of the working material, which is usually some kind of inert refrigerant. As the can gets colder the vapor pressure decreases and the 'air' coming out comes out a bit less powerfully.
If you hold the can upside down it just squirts the liquid out, which boils on contact and will tend to cool things as low as its boiling point.
This is exactly how a refrigerator works, but in a closed loop.

Right, I thought they were compressed air cans, but they must be some sort of inert hydrocarbon or freon.

So you got kinky with the hot wax while chatting on AIM with your married girl? You know hot wax doesn't go through the Internets right?

Funny you mention that, but yes I was talking to married chick at the time. I believe the conversation ended like this:
me: FUCK me: a fucking candle just exploded on my desk
.. End of conversation

I read that a large pan of boiling water is best instead of a iron. For three reasons, one larger surface area, two won't get to hot, three more heavy.

Now for my sort of related question... I have a few splotches of super glue on my laptop screen.. I can't take it off with acetone because it will ruin my screen.
Any suggestions?

Elmers glue to remove super glue? No.
http://science.howstuffworks.com/question6951.htm
Looks like hot water and a dull scraping tool (credit card, maybe?) would be your best bet
If you have an antireflective coating on your screen (matte finish) I'd imagine the damage is already done. Super glue is excellent for welding/melting plastics together. I'd imagine it may have melted your screen covering a bit.
