Ok, the other cakes just began fruiting yesterday. That's 10 days after birthing. Patience was all it took.

Those 2 lone shrooms are ready to pick. Is it better to pick them just before the veil breaks?

just don't let the caps flatten out too much or they will drop spores everywhere

I left them overnight so they would start sporulating for spore prints, and one of the cakes got a dark purple-brown stain on it. Could that be spores? It's too far from the shrooms and higher, so could it be that the spores are flying up and away from the shroom and settling on the cake?

yep thats spores. takes practice to get it just before is dumps a shitload of spores.
