jar lids while trying to pin

my freinds jars all fully colonized about a week ago, and hes been giving them about light 12 on 12 off for a few days getting them to try to pin. he knows they arent gonna just pop up and he has to be patient... but while hes being patient, should he loosen the lids? he hasnt loosened them up since after being sterilized and it is pretty wet looking in there. moisture is covering all of the glass that he can see, since the cake has shrunken a little bit being colonized and he has them upside down so the bottom can get light and they slid towards the lid, and there is an air gap where there is a lot of water. so loosen and wait, or just wait?
any suggestions?

Pinning does not occur in the jar for most strains (called in-vitro pinning). You need to birth your cakes into a terrarium.

is he being the paranoid newbie, following pftek and it says to wait for primordia, so i guess he shouldve been more specific, getting it to begin with primordia in the jar before birthing, should he do that or put them in the terririum now?
