Perlite question

the only perlite i've been able to find in my area has some sort of plant food added to it. would this cause any contamination isssues?

absolutly do not use anything with chemicals in it for a humidifier. look harder. perlite or vermiculite can be found just about anywhere. mushroom mycelium has been shown to be able to absorb and concentrate toxins present in contact with any part of the mycelium, so if a mushroom accidently droops down and touches it, it could contaminate the entire cake or tray.
