Meditative 'Pressure'

Sometimes while meditating I get the sensation of pressure behind my eyes. It is a pressure the goes inward and upward, as if someone were pushing there fingers into my skull, hooking my soul, and pulling it up to my conscious. It is actually a pleasant sensation, just wondering if anyone else gets this.

hooking my soul,
A demon has caught you son. This is a main reason why I don't meditate. I'm not falling for that bait.

It was only a description, an analogy.
I actually haven't meditated all that much, last night was the first time in years. I try it because it brings peace and ease of mind, I'm not looking for any metaphysical or spiritual enlightenment.

I know. That's the same reason I meditate. It's very relaxing for my body and mind. Actually I often do the Buddhist Body Scan as a meditation. It's really powerful for relaxing.

ok, had you smoked any marijuana prior to your meditation? That's the feeling of extreme stonededness that I get when I smoke and then become totally relaxed

uh huh-- I see
sounds like a good meditation then, would you say it's a good feeling? I believe for many people that feeling you describe is the reason for meditating. Now you will live a thousand years and have many happy wives

Yes, it was wonderful. And when I took very deep breathes it felt as if my 'energy', 'essence", 'soul', 'whatever' was about to be fully removed from my body and my head would sag tremendously. However, every time I released my breathe it would return to my body.

these are your psychic sinuses you may need to blow your nows
the main thing is just to be aware of it and continue bare attention should not interrupt what you are doing which is concentration and following the breath.
do more meditation, never mind the pressure, there is always air pressure. prana pressure etc.etc...

My nose was really stuffy.
However, I was meditating for close to 1/2 an hour and I only got this pressure sensation during the short periods when my mind was free from distractions or "broke through", so to speak. It was actually a freeing, pleasant feeling.
Other than the pressure there was a great calmness in my thoughts and a sensation similar to an OBE, but not as disconnected. I haven't meditated much, so is there something else I should be noticing? Will the pressure leave with more meditative cleansing sessions?
Also, interesting side note. I tried focusing on the ringing in my ears to stifle my thoughts and aid in the process, which worked. After I came out of it I noticed the ringing was greatly reduced, almost entirely gone.

i have to say "great" and "it doesn't matter" however it does matter that you went there then and you can go again in my current state of mind quotidian i can't access the reason (is there one?) - I just know we have to go there and it is not like other things we do in our minds. maybe that is all there is to it? the utter variance of it from the norm.
