consciousness does not necessarily mean comprehension. some say dna has a consciousness. some say plants have a consciousness, some say our cells have a consciousness. maybe comprehension is too broad. yet it somehow excludes these theories. maybe the ability to make choices. not necessarily act on them though. just another thought
