A little hunting and a march through the larch...

Did a couple quick hunts this weekend, mushroom season in the mountains is winding down, probably about my last edible hunt up in the cascades for the year. yellow chants were still flushing well, but unfortunately the decent sized ones had already been picked where I looked. there were also a few slightly frostbitten hericiums around, but everything else has slowed down a lot. maybe now if we can finally get a decent pineapple express to roll through and soak the west side I'll make it out to hunt some psilocybes, or maybe not ... anywho, here are some pics of what was seen:
  Hericium sp.
 Cantharellus subalbidus
Tricholoma magnivelare, the nice ones had been picked and tossed some time before
 Coprinus comatus in the road
  I'm thinking Hypholoma capnoides
 Helvella sp. (?)
 Boletus rubripes (?)
 Hygrocybe sp.
 Polypores, Fomitopsis maybe
 Amanita smithiana, these smell terrible
Also got to see some western larch, Larix occidentalis, at peak color with blue skies and snow on the ground . interesting trees, they're conifers but are deciduous, the needles turn yellow/orange and fall off this time of year...

Great pics and finds! Would love to see the Larch's in their peak sometime. Some rain would be nice... but the chants and kings were looking prime along the coast this past weekend if ya really have the itch

Spores, very nice. The mushroom specimen featured in http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/08-43/507750509-asco.jpg is rather interesting.

I find lots of mushrooms under Larch!
