Does romance need to have a purpose?

Whether they label themselves "master" or not, it seems all-too-common to utilize the position of "spiritual teacher" in order to gain power over others. Unless a teacher is oriented towards empowering their students, they are pursuing an imbalanced relationship.

Did I say all? I said that it was 'all-too-common.' Someone who styles themself as being above everyone else & offers their services as a spiritual teacher is more likely to be a power-seeker than an empowerer.

Because we love to worship idols. Humans are quite primitive and superstitious you know.:D

Primitive compared to what?
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Good, it pays to have a healthy amount of skepticism towards any "spiritual master."

Either that, or believe all spiritual masters equally. Enough beliefs should cancel each other out that you'll be unspoiled by the end.
