I don't consider the highest state attainable to be any sort of esoteric thing. I consider the highest state attainable to be simply living in such a way where the things one does make sense. I mean behaving in a sensible way where one has stability and calmness. Having calmness in ones life allows one to look at the world and contemplate it in a clear way. To me the highest state is a state in which one is down to earth and well grounded where one looks at things in a practical way. People do not feel uneasy when in the presence of a stable practical-minded person.

To me viewing things in a practical way means "what can i do with this situation" which is not a relaxed state imo, its constantly onto a job to do something, if someone around is constantly looking for something to do i wouldnt say they put me at ease.

Seeing the world in clear way is to see it with no intention, so no inner tension, thats calmness.

The water only becomes clear & transparent when it is still, similarly when seeing from no particular viewpoint, when you are still insde then clear seeing takes place.

For me the world doesnt have to 'make sense', it is what it is, trying to make sense of it can drive you insane

Well by practical I mean doing things to get ones needs met in a sensible manner as opposed to behaving in an outrageous manner.

For instance I notice there are people who risk their lives in order to strive for fulfillment of some kinds... people who climb mountains and people who bungee jump.... one does not need to do these things. People can just chill out. I'm all for being physically fit however one doesn't need to use ones body in such extreme ways.

Material life has some practicalities that need to be addressed. The bills need to be paid and you need to budget for them. Why not do it in a calm and relaxed way?

I just mean not having to think about everything so much & just allowing yourself to be swept with the winds, to some this sounds like theyre being robbed of all freedom but somehow i feel it as the only real freedom.

The tao created my life therefore the tao is responsible for my life

That is living in the tao, not living, but being lived

where you say without intention
I would say with a gentle attitude
I say this because
as I see it,
there is always some attitude arising
but it is nice to add a minimum, and to add it in a good direction.
even with awarness, there is a fair bit of blundering.
