Obama is seemingly going to be the next president.
He's winning every national poll, and a poll today just had him up 16 points done by the PEW research corps. He's up 8-10 in the tracking polls, and in every battleground state, he's up. While some in McCain's campaign are hoping for an upset, increasingly it is seeming to be likely that Obama wins in a landslide. This will be the first major, major victory for true, modern liberalism in America.
and good luck to you my friend!

Why do you have to be a member of either party, I never understood that? I'm an independent, I vote for who is the best candidate imo.

I was a libertarian in college. Now i am a registered republican. sometimes i vote for libertarians and i almost always have to vote for democrats at my local level. (west side san Antonio) Republicans and libertarians don't have a chance and usually never bother to run...

But why bother to register with a party at all? If you vote rebulican 90% of the time so what, vote rebulican 90% of the time, that doesn't make you a rebublican, just someone who agrees with rebulicans mostly. What benefits are there to being affiliated w/a party besides maybe if you're a rebulican you know your vote won't be flipped or something (I jest, I jest... or do I?)

In many cases the Primary election is the only election that matters. If you are in a predominately one Party area the only say you can have is at the primary level.

Very true, I wasn't even thinking about the primaries, but that does make a lot of sense now. I wish political parties were illegal.
