    #914706 - 09/28/02 01:39 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

Alright, a friend of mine in Holland called me to find out this question, and i told him i'd try to help, so i wonder if any of you guys could help me, in the incubation chamber, if the humidity is at or close to 100% is that bad just if water builds up on the cakes? and if water does build up, why is that bad?
-Thanx

You shouldn't have 100% rh in your incubation chamber. And water shouldn't build up on your cakes in your incubation chamber since they should still be in the jars with the lids on. But if you are talking about your fruiting chamber, then 100% is good. Water won't build up unless you spray your cakes directly, this is bad because it can lead to contams and it can hamper pinning. Good luck

My buddy said he likes temps in the mid 70's F. Try to fan at least three times a day. Thats a good number to start with, I've read some people fanning as much a 7 times a day, and as little as once a week. So you just gotta find what works for you. But three works for my buddy. Good luck.
