.....Here is another option to play with as well

go ahead and inoculate you 3 QT. jars (or whatever you may have) let your jars colonize At any point in time while the jars are colonizing you can get some FP spawn bags and fill with bulk substrate.....sterilize, seal wait for total jar colonization and inoculate the spawn bags with the colonized jars.......Get a euro-sealer and it has a bag cutter on it so once you have inoculated the spawn bag you can reseal it.........this in essence is what you are doing......this is just a little safer on the cantam rate.

the above is a Bulk Tek I will be working on in the near future.

I wouldn't recommend a second shaking of the bag, cuz you can start a contamination bloom that will surely kill your monster cakes. One mixing on inoculation is plenty, unless you use a flow hood, then contams aren't very likely. Otherwise your tek should work great. I've used the mixture of 8 qts. vermiculite w/ 2 cups of brown rice sterilized at 15psi for 20 min. and had excellent results. I use 1/5 of a qt. jar of grain spawn to inoculate 1 bag. The recipe above does about 4 fp size bags.
