Perlite/BRF Substrate

my cat made a substrate using perlite and brf with some verm. on top. he innoculated it with a few cc's of Golden Teacher and placed it in closet with a water heater where the temp. jumps around from 70-88 degrees all day. will he see any results with this?

Perlite does not work well in the substrate. It is much better at evaporating water than holding and slowly releasing it like vermiculite. If you had vermiculite to use, why didn't you use it in your substrate?
