AFOAF was dunking a tray that appeared to be healthy, just as he poured water in  he noticed dust rising up.  Is this possibly contamination?

How clean is the environment, does the tray just sit out and collect pet/human dander? Was the tray really dry?

It was kept in a clean environment to incubate, covered and vented with micro pore, and it wasn't dry, the cover had condensation on it.
The mycelium was a little fluffy but not cobweb or anything like that.  It might be contaminated but I'm gonna see what happens, its isolated and taking an over-night dunk.  Probably wont case it, so it can be monitored easier.

Sounds like a plan, a lot of the macroscopic appearance of contams is white so I feel sometimes you just have to wait and see.
