Grey growth? What is this?

I don't have pics. I have grey growth in a jar, maybe two.

normal jar doesn't smell when it's "growing"
grey jar smells like mushrooms but kinda powdery unless that's what they smell like.

It's been 4-5 days and it's about 50% of the jar. On par with normal growth.

Is this a contam? If so what kind (got more info)
If it's a contam it's getting thrown out so I can make more jars.
Could it be myco growth, I tried searching but nothing.

It's probably a mold growing on your cake, it should be kinda grey and powdery almost like thin mycellium; it should whiten up and look more like myc though. You should probably toss it. Or if you want to be safe, get some pics so you can get 100% confirmation first.

sounds like it's contaminated to me too.  no way of knowing for sure though with out some pics.  but grey and powdery has got bad news written all over it.  dont open it in your house if you do decide to toss it..

Diluted hydrogen peroxide will kill cobweb immediately, but the best way to prevent it in the first place is to maintain fresh air exchange.

It's scraped. I threw it out allready. I'm not going ot risk it, I still got like 3.4 pound of brf, and half a bg of verm 8qt or more..no problems :laugh:
