mycobag "birthing"
    #9102249 - 10/19/08 10:50 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Ive used the search button on mycobags and ive seen lots of threads about growing invitro in the bag but not much about birthing it. Im colonizing two mycobags that I purchased from the mad season, my question is do I birth them into my fruiting chamber just like I would a brf cake? Should I dunk them in water and roll in vermiculite or just put them in my chamber as is? Also should I attempt to sit them upright like a brf cake, or just lay it on its side? Would it be at all plausible or logical to cut them in half and then sit them in my fc? thanks for any help you can throw my way.

you can do all that you mentioned. whatever you would like to do with them. just dont roll them in vermiculite like pf cakes. it would probably work but not the greatest idea. you can break everything up while its still in the bag and then you can and dump in trays. you can lay the bag in a tray while its still colonizing so the bag takes the shape of the tray and then just cut the top off. i would break the stuff up once its fully colonized and then spread it in a bin/tray. the more surface area the better. you could tak it out as a block if you wanted and skip the casing if you can keep a high RH.
