Can fresh picked shrooms carry dangerous contam?

Just a random thought. If a cased substrate is carrying contamination on say a second or third flush will it still produce fruits in spite of the contamination? Can the fruit that grows from a contaminated casing carry the contamination within its organism?
The thought of this worries me, because I know that later flushes are more prone to contam and if you can't see the contam then how do you know your fruits are safe to eat?
Reassure me please!

I'd like to hear about this too. I just had a monotub that got the Trich just as the first flush was finishing. I harvested, but Trich was starting to take over. None of the mushrooms seemed affected though.

Fruits picked from trich infected casings are fine as long as no mould is on the fruits. As i understand it mycelium doesnt transfer toxins through the mycelial network.
If you get trich on your casing, you can use salt paiste to cover the infected area and an inch beyond to stall it to get you 1 flush then discard.
Do not attempt to cut out an infected area, which would spread the spores.
If it was a bacterial contamination that would be a different story.

What if the Trich is starting to grow on the very bottom of the fruit and you cut it off a half-inch or so above that?

I'm no expert, but from a few things I've read, if they grow they're probably safe as long as the contam is not on the shrooms. If there's a lot of contam on the substrate, I'd play it safe though and forget about that flush.
When you get trich on your substrate, the best thing to do is make a salt paste and put it on the trich and about an inch around. If it's been there for a while, it's probably unsalvagable because it likely would have grown deeper into the substrate.
A good rule of thumb is when in doubt, throw it out. Don't risk your health.

Again, I don't know for sure, but I would forget that fruit and probably the entire tub/cake/etc. It could be safe, but it's a bit too risky for me.

Also, contaminated substrates can be burried outside in some compost.

Trichoderma infects substrates, not mushrooms.
It's a beneficial organism in the soil, and nearly every single potato, onion, carrot, radish, beet, garlic clove, etc., that you've ever eaten had trichoderma on or around it when it was in the ground. RR

Understood, but it will eventually kill the mushrooms growing in the substrate. It produces an enzyme that dissolves mushroom tissue. I've seen it grow onto the base of mushroom stems and kill the mushrooms. I can also spot a patch of Trich before it sporulates because it will start to look bare, and it kills the mushroom myc and Trich myc is not as thick as shroom myc.

The point is that when trich is found, you toss out the substrate immediately. Any fruits growing from the substrate are safe to eat. Never allow trich to take over a whole substrate. Billions of spores are released into the air, thus ruining your chances in the future. RR

from wat ive heard, if the mycelium is able to produce a good looking fruit, nothing rotting on the outside it is good.
so say ur flush is just about done, and u see some contam, ur fine. unless its some crazy bacteria that u can clearly see taking over ur fruits. which is rare

Mushrooms from the wild can harbor parasites.

What may be the consequences of a bacterial contamination in the fruits as it pertains to the person eating them? Are bacterial contam in fruits observable or not? I would hate to think that something in my fruits could make me deathly sick.
