photobucket of fullsized images
This was our first day out armed with just a handbook we are only able to identify a few. I will attach pictures below in the morning of the ones that escape us. I will be purchasing the MD book in the morning to figure out the rest. This is all from 1km of forest in Bristish Columbia on the coast.
We are looking for fellow hunters who wish to join us if you are interested! Thanks for any help on the pictures on myt floor.

That's a whole lot of shrooms. I don't recognize any of the species, but it seems you have a fair amount of cortinarius sp. there and perhaps some rhodocollybia, enteloma, and some other misc. species.
These are interesting though:
they look like gomphus clavatus to me, or pig's ear. They appear to be quite tasty. I have no experience with this species though, so don't munch them down as long as this ID remains unconfirmed by someone else.

That mushroom is entirely blue with white gills. I will take closer pics of my weirdo piles. All the piles with multiple different mushrooms are my oddballs. I found only one or two of each.
I live downtown Vancouver if anyone wants to have a look at them.
I found the pigs ear looking one with the purpleish underside growing on a rock with water coming out of it. They were under the moss and hard to spot. All of those were collected from 1 sq/M.
Oddly we went to find the magics and this is what we came home with!
PS There were about 40 more species I didnt pick because too small or too weird. Heading back on the weekend to my friends cabin. If anyone wants to go shoot me a line. This is the greatest hobby ever!

Update they are gomphus clavatus and I'm preparing them for dinner! I purchased MD and started reading.
I can't determine if the cyans are real though...

Looking through those pics I don't see anything that looks like Ps. cyanescens. But my advice would be SPORE PRINT.
Also, there are a lot of Cortinarius out in the PNW right now that have of blue flesh/stain blue. Corts will have a rusty spore print.
Have fun out there! And wear bright clothes so you don't get shot by hunters...

You are right on. The three suspects were all rusty brown coloured. My fellow hunting buddy called to say he found them in the woods behind his house! He also got permission for us to stroll through his buddies cow field next saturday, so things are looking up!
Thanks for the help!

Looks interesting to me. You don't want to be out in cowfields, you want to be looking at wood on the ground for mushrooms that look like that.
