dunk and roll tek question

Ive pretty much decided that I DO want to use this tek right off the bat. But Im a little unclear on a few things
In a few videos they actually wash the cakes off with running water before dunking-- Should I Wash the cakes before putting them into the dunk container..and what if there is primordia already on the cake, could washing and or dunking harm the pins or primordia doing it right after birthing?
As I understand it goes
Birth
Dunk then Roll First Flush DUnk 2nd DUnk and so on...
would i wash the cake at each dunk as well or just put into the dunk container?

Just rinse them after the dunk, then roll.

I strongly recommend rinsing prior to and after the dunk. If it wasn't a good idea, I wouldn't have put it into the video. That doesn't mean you'll automatically fail if you don't, but why not spend the extra five minutes to do it right? RR

And is tap water appropriate to do this (rinsing), or should spring water be used? I think that is what was used in the video, but I'm not sure if it was filtered.

Tap water is fine, even preferred, for the rinse as well as the dunk. If mold spores or bacteria are present, the chlorine in the water will help neutralize them, while not harming the mushroom mycelium at all. RR

I just checked the video then, and the cakes are just rinsed under the tap, so I would assume that tap water is fine to use.
If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.
[EDIT]: See above post for more in depth information.
