What determines the amount of mushrooms growing in a cake?

I've seen a lot of pics of cakes having from one big huge mushroom to a lot of skinny ones and what not, so my questions is:
What determines the amount of pins that mature? Is it the fruiting conditions? or is it genetic?

Well most people who fruit cakes use multispore. You dont know what kind of genetics your going to get. fruiting conditions. FAE and RH.

Yeah what you want to do is isolate strains that seem to be high-potency and high-yield. This can be done and you can grow that strain from then and onward.

Just make sure you stick with the basics. Get some videos, or google some videos about cultivation. "Mushroom Growing Made Easy" is great. Although google's video quality is not the best...

Bro, lemme say this.. It is a combination of EVERYTHING.. The strain, genetics within the strain, the grow medium, the caseing, or lack of caseing, light wavelength and intensity and timing, how much you touched the cake, humidity and FAE..

The best ways will be learned in time.. There are just to many factors..
