First off, all is not lost on isolating some good myc. Ropey is what your looking for, not feathery. Often the ropes don't show up on the first plate. Once transferred to a new agar plate, you will get sectors of ropey and cottony mycelium. Just use the strandy myc if your in a hurry, or transfer it to a new plate that should end up being all ropey (nonsectoring). Many times the second plate will be non-sectoring, but that seems to take luck. I'd recomend at least one transfer with several of the jars Good luck. Hey Moe, who you callin a nerd? MFer blows himself up twice a week in his kick ass lab, and it goes to his head!
