Is this "odd" growth on all of your cakes? I've had abhorts that look like what you describe, just blobs that look like fruiting material but no cap or stem. If that is wht it is you've got nothing to worry about. Be a little more descriptive please.

well, maybe they are aborts, but they have been in teh terarium for 2 days now and now ''real'' pinheds???im still not sure they are pinheads...all my cakes have it...just hug blobs of white stuff with no brown heads like a normal pinhead.and this glob almost covers the entire cake..as it grows it just covers teh whole entire cake

I've had the same "sort" of growths on my cakes, are they the same consistency as a stem? that's what mine were, except on the the bottom, near the pearlite one grew very large, covering the whole bottom of the cake, these were a jello sort of consistency from the amount of water in them. I dried them anyway, ate some of them straight, and they were fine, potent and tasted just like the rest of the shrooms.

details details details
could be humidity
could be an isolated strain incapable of fruiting
could be abhorts
c'mon man, spores or pure strain. PF or other cakes? pix etc etc. It sounds fine to me, but I don't really know what's going on with your specifics.

Nope, I think your fine. I've seen similar sounding things before, I was just wondering mainly if you were using an isolated strain instead of a multi-spore inoc. Sometimes they are thick, like a stem. Sometimes they are just kinda like cotton balls.
Report back if your good or not.
Happy new year!
