I'm curious...when you order syringes...how many uses are they? One per jar...what's the deal? I'm THIS close to ordering some from Ralphsters.

You use 1-2 cc's per jar.

Whatever you want man!
A syringe has about 10cc of hydrated spore solution. Read the teks on the main site and you'll quickly realize the recommended amount to use. The PF tek I believe calls for .5cc in three or four different spots all around the jar, being sure to inject solution against the inner glass of the jar so that spores cover more area and you can see the growth easier. With a conservative effort you can inoculate 12 1/2 pints with one syringe.

After you've injected all teh spore solution into various jars, you can save the syringe to make your own, from spore prints. You can use it to make mycellium water syringes, lc, w/e

excellent follow up rusty, I meant to say that myself. Look into LC because even though you should learn to take prints and spore syringes (which can be used to start a Liquid Culture) LCs will drastically cut down on the colonization time of your jars. =

Don't use LC...If you do anything you can make a mycelium syringe out of a cake. You make the cake...Inject sterile water into the cake, then you shake it up realllllly good, and finally draw back up the liquid. You now have something as good/better than LC without risking contams.
A LC is difficult to tell if its contaminated or not, and it also isn't easy for beginners. But....Anyone can do the technique I just described.

So, does that mean that I'll be able to grow from a syringe made of mycelium? Is it just possible to grow with the same cake again?

Cakes usually have 2-3 flushes. You can dunk/roll them when you get to that point.
I suggest you start up a grow log so that people can help you. Post pictures etc.
I wouldn't worry about doing that at this point. I would stick to the basics, and use this right here:
http://www.shroomery.org/8409/PF-Tek
Once you get this down then you can try some of the more advanced things.

Thanks! I will certainly start a grow log once I get everything in!
