triggering pinning

so i have a couple of buckets o funguses that have been colonized for about 2 weeks now. i applied a casing about a week ago and opened up the holes that i had taped up to provide plenty of fae and turn the light on that i have in the closet 12 hours a day.
so my question is waht the best way to trigger pinning. the mycelium poke through the casing layer and then i just looked like it stopped. so just wait it out?

Un-taping holes in a bucket is not going to give you "plenty of fae ." , especially if they're on the top of the bucket . Might need to try some fanning .

yeahs it has been said that if you want to trigger pinning, to put your container in a refridgerater over night, and it will cold shock it. i have treid this, and can say i'm a lil ify on this, i tried it with two jars, and two jars i didn't put them in, the both fruited at the same time.. and it can be risky to put the in the fridge due to the bacteria and what not.. ther is a second way tough, i kind of thought this up but probaly not the first.. get a container of ice big enough to put your jars or bucket' into, and let it sit for 10-12 hours.. know i have done this like 3-4 times it seem to work better than the fridge... in conclution. you should just let it keep going with out cold shocking, it may take an extra week but your mycelium will be healthier

You're thinking of a different species, Alex. Cold shocking doesn't do anything for cubensis except probably stall it. They are tropical mushrooms by nature. OP the biggest pinning trigger is fresh air. Fan a lot at first it will help induce pinning. Your RH might drop a lil but you have a casing layer which creates that microclimate at pin head level. Just revert back to regular fanning cycles and regular misting, once the pins have formed. Make sure you dont let the casing layer get dry though.

Excellent advice. FAE is the main pinning trigger ime.
