Brf overgrowing Verm.
    #9081143 - 10/15/08 12:09 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Its been four days since I inoculated my BRF/Verm cakes. No sign of growth yet but the BRF is getting puffier and mushy looking. Is this good or is there too much moisture inside the jars or something?

I cant find my camera. But tiny puffy specks of whitish Grey stuff. I'm pretty sure its the BRF cause its literally everywhere in the jar between vermiculite.

If your substrate looks 'mushy' or 'wet', it's likely a bacterial contamination. Look up wet spot contams in the Contamination Forum.

Otherwise, we can't really help you without pictures.

Either way, I would wait a few days and see. No harm in giving it a few more days.
