Hi, I use a mycodome fruiting chamber.. I followed all the instructions and the meter still reads that the humidity is 60% even when i mist many times a day.
anyone know what the problem could be?

more info if needed, this is the mycodome setup of the fruiting chamber if you are unfamiliar
The curved dome lid holds in the moisture and lets it slowley drip down while the subersible heater keeps it warm enough to maintain fruiting temperatures required for the species of mushroom you decide to grow. The LECA and airpump keep fresh clean air flowing into the fruiting chamber to let the mushrooms breath and have proper air exchange.

Here's your problem....You bought a Mycrodome...a gimmicky piece of overpriced crap sold by a company that rips people off.
I'm sorry for your trouble.

Ok, so I used a different hydrometer and it says the humidity is at 85%... is there any way to raise the humidity more? Should I cover that stupid air exchange filter on the top of the mycodome dome?

Unplug the heater. Never heat a fruiting chamber. Calibrate your hygrometer by wrapping it up in a damp bath towel for an hour, and then adjust so it reads 99%. If you have a non-adjustable hygrometer, toss it out, then go to a local cigar shop to buy a mechanical hygrometer with an adjusting screw in the back.
Mist as required to maintain 95% or greater humidity. RR

well i just checked the hydrometer when i was unplugging the heater and its at 90%...
does anyone know if covering the air exchange thing at the top of the mycodome will help keep in humidity?
