Heat Vs. No Heat Light Vs. No Light

This month I have started my first grow. I have lurked on these forums for a couple of years now reading learning and taking notes. I have invested $600 so far for this first grow and will not go in vein. I have room to experiment so I have done so. when I inoculated my bags and jars with spores I first put them in a dark tub. After a week with no results I placed them in a clear bin and placed a towel over it. I kept this exposed to normal room temps (74-78). 1 week goes by no results. I then placed the clear bin inside the dark one, I also placed a dry heater in the bin and kept jars and bags in the darkness, its been 2 days and here are the results.
Heat is 76-82 fahrenheit and conditions are dark. 1 popcorn jar has 2 kernels covered in mycelium and my bag has a pinned sized growth. So for my personal experience I would have to say my best results we kept in the 80's and in the dark.
2 weeks have passed since inoculation. Finally.

Welcome to the normal process. Next time, use wbs or rye and it will go faster. Putting them in the dark had nothing to do with it. RR

$600 is nothing really. Buy an AA941, flowhood, impulse sealer, magnetic stirrer, food dehydrator along with all the other "necessary" goodies like bags, culture work tools.. not to mention money spent on spore prints.
You see what I'm getting at..
