holes in fc or not?

Whats going on guys, about ready to make my fruiting chamber out of a rubbermaid container. My question is should I drill holes in it or not? Ive seen some teks that dont mention holes at all, and just mention opening it up and fanning once or twice a day. Ive also seen some teks that mention drilling holes. Is there a real difference? Do you guys drill holes in your fc? If you recommend drilling holes, how many? Ive seen some that just drill some holes on the bottom, and ive also seen a video where the person drills holes all over the container. Can anyone shed some light on this? thanks!

yes... drill alot of holes towards the bottom to help the carbon escape, and alot at the top, sides and bottom... allowing fresh air to go in/out as it sees fit. I have a shit ton of holes in mine... more so towards the top and bottom.. not so much in the middle-ish area.

If you're making PF cakes, you want to make a Shotgun Terrarium. You want your terrarium to look like you blasted it a few times with 00 Buckshot. Thats a lot of 1/4" holes. A LOT. Fresh Air Exchange triggers pinning. That means mushrooms. More holes = more Fresh Air Exchange. You want holes.

if holes were put in the bottom wouldn't perlite fall through it? Am i missing something here? Also id assume you'd have to prop it up on some sort of base, or else the bottom holes wouldn't get any air anyway? Do I still have to open it up and fan it if there are holes? So general consensus is holes= good? thanks for all the help fellas.

I had the same question, and it was answered on here a few days ago.. no the perlite will not fall through... maybe a few pieces, but nothing major.. no water will seep down either which was my concern. if your worried about that, just put a towel or something under it... but it shouldnt be a problem.

More holes = better gas exchange. More gas exchange = better shrooms!
