I would move those to somewhere with a little more steady temps. 83f is getting too hot. Growing mycelium will can produce upto 5 or so degrees of heat as it eats its food. at above 84f mycelium growth falls rapidly while stimulating  moulds and bacteria.

For 1/2 pint pf jars, you would incubate at no higher than 81F. The larger your substrate the lower your temp.

Incubating at room temperature (75f) is fine. Between 75F and 80F theres not much difference.

You will also want to avoid wild swings in temperature which cause air exchanges between your jar/bag and outside and can overcome the filter (especially if dry verm is your filter).

Take those out of that tank with perlite. Grain is supposed to look dry, the moisture is inside of the grains. Your filter must remain dry, storing them in high humidity will most likly dampen the filter, allowing contamination to grow right through it.

Also lookes like you have tinfoil on your jars. Remove it, you will hinder gas exchange which will slow/stall growth as c02 builds during colinisation to toxic levels.

What are you using as a filter?

Actually, I've been following a similar teck described in this video.

They say you just have to put foil on the lids and loosen them up a bit. I don't have any filters, but if you recommend i use them, i guess i should.
Could I use doubled up coffee filters? I have a really, really sterile glove box. It's got a hepa on it, and I sterilize all the walls w bleach, then circulate it's air with the hepa, then seal it off and perform my operations. Would I still be risking it to try to get the aluminum off the jars and filters on?
Normally, it's 73 degrees in that cabinet. A little chilly, but could i still colonize at that temperature? The temp swings from 77 at night, to around 80/81 by noon, then back to 77. Would this be too wild? I'll check the lower shelves with my thermometer, maybe they will experience less variation since heat rises. I can definitely feel that the upper shelf is warmer than the lower ones.
Oh, and i just noticed some myc growing in the black poplar jars, but nothing in the Cambodians. It's only day two, i realize, but would that seem natural?
I'll probably be going on vacation around December. Do you think I'll be able to case and fruit my mushies before then? Or should I stall them in the fridge for a few months...
Tomoro i'll be sterilizing another rye jar. I'm taking a different approach. soaking it tonight, then boiling tomoro after noon and sterilizing in my pc. any tips on how to use a coffee filter on the cap?
Thanks for the response. This site is full of really cool people, lots of information. It's great!
reason i say 81 deg now is earlier, the light was on for a few hour before i check the temperature, i was organizing the room. It cooled off significantly after i turned it off.

it might not be a good idea to exceed 78-80 degrees because of the extra 5 degree metabolic temperature increase. I'd find a cooler area to store them. The problem is that higher temperatures invite contaminants.

No filter! hmmmm i wouldnt remove the foil then. Coffee filters are useless. coffee filters have holes 10X larger than the size of contaminants spores.

You could in put a filter on, in your glovebox, after wiping the lid with alcohol wipes.
