Hope you have enough materials to dry it all out.
I suggest creating a temporary drying chamber out of a cardboard box lined with a plastic bag, and three layers of mushrooms on paper towels suspened from each other and the dissacent...

I found my first bruising mushroom today, it crossed my mind that it could be weilli...
All this rain certainly has been great for out fungus freinds... I saw some of the largerest (non-active) species I've ever seen in my life!

Geezus, that's great man. I've been in and out of the Alpharetta/Marietta for a week now, thinking with all the rain I would find at least a FEW weilii! That Weilii gods haven't smiled upon me yet :frown:

. I keep seeing these things that look very similar to weilii, but deff. no bluing reaction. Ah well, the hunt will go on I suppose.

There is definantly a bruising reaction with this mushroom. It blues instantly, literally when I remove my finger it?s there... I think it?s also cool that this mushroom picks up my finger print very well...
I think it would be awesome if Moe and I found Weilli on the same day : ) Especially since this is my first brusing mushroom, and I?ve never been hunting with anyone else...

Just tell them you are from a local university and are doing research on the nutritional contents of the mushrooms and that you need many to get a good average of nutritional properties. :laugh:

I have used that line with several home owners...it has never been a problem...just a university student doing some research on unique mushrooms.

It has always worked for me.

I think, being that it's getting pretty late, that you should just go over there like you own the place ( they're old so I'm betting they are already sleeping) with a paper bag like shaggy in your avatar and start picking them as fast as you can without looking suspicious then when the bag is full get the fuck out. Then if you see more during the day pull off the whole nice guy act and see if you can get some more shrooms into your "trash" bag (not plastic).
