Shroom and Dung Hunting in Southern Thailand
    #906370 - 09/25/02 03:57 AM (14 years, 2 months ago)

I was out with my eight expedition friends when we came across some treasures which reminded us of Florida.

First we found this beautiful treasures of Panaeolus antillarum. Growing from the manure of the wonderful water buffalo.

Now If you live in Florida, there are not many buffralos but the sit remains the same. There will be mushrooms growing from the shit.

Here is a small buffalo paddie next to a nine inch size tong belonging to the infamous shroomer knonw as Mushroom John.

Notice how huge this pile of buffalo shit is. Imagine hpw many shrooms will eventually appear in this very shit.

Later in the day, Rachel, Grant and I went to visit the elephant koral (Thai spelling). Here we found an amazing collection of elelphant dung. Here is but just a sample of that massive balls of chawed grasses. There was one seven feet high but then you would not have been able to see the elephants as they created their owen compost.

And then low and behold, right to the left of the dung heap we found two Florida mushrooms which make people very sick.

Chlorophyllyum molybdites (Green gills) or Morgan?s Leipota as they are commonly known.

So here they are for your enjoyement. as is the dung for those from Florida who sometimes accidently eat this species which will curl your stomach.

And have a shroomery day.
