Re: My agar hates me

1: just about every agar dish I have seen has a little liquid on it.

2:No idea never made it, perhaps try PDA?

3:hope so, I use it. I am constructing a glove box thou

4:I would think that if you can see spores landing on your agar, there are millions of spores in what you saw. Fast colonization would result from mass innoculation of the agar plate.

my 2 cents

Why did you have a vacuum in your jars? I am under the impression that the seals should go up so a little air can sneak thru. I personally would eliminate the causes of the vacuum if possible.

The water isn't harmful, except that it can speed the spread of contaminant spores. Store your jars upside down after the first day so the water collects on the lids. The water is likely from condesation, not too much water. If the jar is sealed while it cools, condensation is usually increased. I think you'll be fine, although it may take several transfers if you are trying to isolate strains. If you just want quick colonization of substrates, use the mycelium to make mycelium water for innoculation.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

Sup? I used to use 1/2 pints, there work well but the seal side needs to be up, when you crack those open there gonna suck in a whole bunch of air. Um the rest of the things sound ok. Try using birdseed agar, just use it the dame way as the dog food. Also i got my hands on a gt print for you and im going to sf on friday. Email me, well hook up.
