Why would you stop doing something you enjoy because of what other people think? Everyone sees the potential legal trouble with doing what they do.. especially with mushrooms that takes a month of thinking about the reprocutions before you even get results.. We all know it is not very wise to tell anyone about our operations; however, it is the right of the individual to tell whomever they trust with the information. Personally.. i told a select few of my closest friends.. all of whom i would trust with my life.. and all of whom tripp mushrooms with me... I especially hate it when people get all preachy.. just because they dont have someone that they could trust unconditionally.. or whatever the fuck sparked that tangent..
and the fact of the matter is that the police dont go around tapping everyones computers to see what kind of illegal actions they may or may not be taking part in. They have the ability to, but to think that they would spend valuable time and resources trolling the web for every would-be pot or mushroom grower is just stupid. If so.. everyone on this message board, since its conception would be charged with conspiracy.. and dont kid yourself... there's ways to trace through proxys..
let the man be proud of his hard work and ingenuity..

Ok, this idea for humidification was stolen from The Shroomy 1, and I implemented a filter basically... all thanks to Shroomy 1.
The basic humidification comes from a fog element that I purchased for;

Heres some various shots of it before I added the weather stripping seal for the lid.;

Applied weather stripping;

Add water and close'er up...

This is with just the fog element turned on, (No fan)

Then let the fan rip.

I tested it in the Martha. I placed the Hygrometer/thermometer gage at the VERY top, and the digital hygrometer near the middle. Then turned the home-made humidifier on, and let it run for about 30 mins before checking on it. came back and the gages read about 65% humidity, but the digital read 97%.

Then it dawned on me that humidity goes down, condensing in lower positions. so I put the gages with the digital at the middle (Not the complete bottom), and they both read around 90% after about 10 mins, and I think they were still on the rise, cause I released alot of humidity when i opened to get the gage at the top. Since befor the digital read 97%

I'll add that the whole thing was pretty much filled with a thick fog, and condensation was forming on everything inside.

well for the test I had it completely inside. there the filter was serving no purpose. In the long run I planed to have it on the outside with a tube running into the Martha... I dunno what I should do...
G'night...

Again, very nice construction, though I personally don't know if this would be good, or what "dose" to use. I'll be interested to hear what more experienced people have to say.
The monotub is just so easy. Nothing to build.

yeah we all have to build one tho it seems. I had a martha once, externally humidified and fanned

 then did tubs...
 now its all in bags

so we all move up at our own pace

I have found bags to yield better and larger fruits, faster than waiting for grain to colonize, then the bulk, just to get to fruit. and its about 25% of the workload as any other tek, no fanning, no misting, no shaking, no touching no breathing... they just work great IMO

leave out the coffee... its not that great as an additive, tho everyone else will say different (read the title) there is almost TOO MUCH nitrogen in spent coffee grounds, and Nitrogen is the reason everyone uses them, so if your going to use it, only use it in a 0.5% or so

Yeah same thing with grains wait 24 hours.. Im just not to good at getting the field capacity just right with bulk subs. My first 2 mono's stalled due to that reason.. My outlook is "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained"

Uh, no grains are soaked for 24 hours simply to hydrate them, nothing to do with field capacity, if that even exists as a term in Grain spawn. you let it all sit together all mixed up for 24 hours for 2 things. 1. to allow the contaminate spores time to germinate out, so they die in the PC instead of surviving. 2. equalize water thru out the substrate while fully hydrating all ingredients

Just an update, The home-made humidifier successfully keeps the whole Martha just shy of 100%. Works for me... I Actually prefer it cause its so simple. Just a tank with a fog element and a fan. Also, I only have to fill it once every 2 days.

You might want to try and isolate your fan from the moisture within the reservoir tank. I have used a setup very similar to yours and the fan would get very wet from the mist. It rusted right up and stopped working eventually.
Cheers
