Outdoor Contam.

Well my outdoor bed is doing very nicely for only using two jars. I based it off of Moes. Then when I thought I had an ant problem, which turned out to be harmless ants, I layed down Quaker Quick Grits to get rid of them. They didnt eat it, and I continued to water as usual. Days later I began to notice a pinkish mold spreading across mainly the grits. My mycelium was having trouble colonizing the grits so I have been manually fighting this mold, removing what I see. Well now the mycelium is beginnning to adapt(?) and colonize the grits. Will one beat out the other or will they live in harmony? Thanks.

I don't have the slightest idea. I do know however, that healthy mycelium causes other plants in the same area to thrive! It's like using a super plant food...:shrug:

Well now my mycelium appears more abundant but less strong. I have stopped manual removal. I guess you guys are right, time will tell. I just hope the mold don't beat out the mycelium. The first flush was some potent ass mushies. First time growing, do an outdoor bed, and it goes to hell lol. I don't know, I have a green thumb and a lot of luck so we'll see. Thanks guys.

Sorry it took me sooo long to get pics. I been busy with surgery. :/

Well it turned out the contam. was taking over the myc. so I scraped the top layer off, picked the good myc. off the bottom and placed it back in the bed. Spread myc. out evenly, then covered with more straw/shit/dirt. Took the contam. myc. and buried it under would chips. I figure it'll kill off the contam. and take over as it's dominant underground.

Today I found two small mushies, one in each bed. They don't appear to be active and too small to print, but I feel like they're pretty cool lol.



This is a picture of my fixed up bed followed by a pics of some active useless mini mushies I get when I move around myc. And no, they aren't aborts, just mini's. :smile:





I just found a handful of big pins today. Yay. Well here one last pic. Its of the first flush.
