another R-44 grow

Okay, here is another attempt to grow using R-44 strain.... some may remember the optimal success I had with the last attempt, it looks like this one is going good as well, but the pins are kind of growing "wiggly?" if that makes sense.
I have kept to the same parameters as the last grow, so we'll see how this one turns out...

looking good, what was the total dry weight of the last r44 tubs after all flushes, i didn't see a final weight in the post. whatever it was, i know it's a damn lot!
btw, what's your coolmist cycle? you use that to provide all humidity and active FAE?

Total dry weight from previous grow was around 1000 grams dried. My second flush didn't go so well, not sure why, but I think it might have been something to do with the moisture that was exhumed during the first flush, and with a tub this large, it's kind of hard to "EASILY" dunk the substrate without it breaking apart and creating a mess, so I said the hell with it and started another grow.
I'll tell you, since nailing down how to properly get a liquid culture going and utilizing it in place of multi-spore, it makes a HUGE difference in time.
My coolmist, I have hooked up to BOTH tubs with just washer drain tubing and a tee. I have it running 24/7 to provide the air and humidity.
Hope this helps you

Yeah, here it is... I pretty much used the same substrate mix with this one as I did with the other. I don't really measure quantity, but rather just eyeball it.

okay, here is an update...
Now I am not sure whats going on with the tub that isn't as developed as the one with the nice flush, but I think it might be from air exchange... I may have stuffed to dense a wad of polyfill into the breather hole. But I am happy with the other tubs' performance... I will let in go for the day, and harvest tonight, and I'll post pics for you guys...
I am curious how my previous grow had MONSTER mushrooms, and this one they are all staying medium sized compared to the last grow...?? anyways, I still have yummy mushrooms, so I am happy

Well, the liquid culture was first started with multi spore... I am not sure how that relates to my problem, but any information would be helpful...
I wanted to work on an isolate so bad, but time and work wouldn't allow me to so I had to skip it for a while at least.

okay, well, I didn't take any photo's of the actual harvest, cuz I hadn't the time or the hands to snap photos, but here you will see my drying set up...
I have 11 layers of mushrooms on filters between 2 fans.

I'm guessing around 9 dry ounces or so...
Oh yeah, this was only from the first tub... I am letting the second one go for a few more days, to let it fully develop.

45 gallon tubs, I dry usually 3 days with the amount I have on each layer of filter, I need the extra time to get 10-12%. It works really good, the larger mushrooms take even more time, but this is a simplified dehydrater on a larger scale really...

Yeah, just order a syringe and study under a microscope! lol I am very impressed with R44. I am not sure of the origin, but whoever or whatever did a really great job with this producers. It seems to resist contams very well too.

I guess I probably used around 8-10 gallons of substrate... I don't really measure shit out, I just kind of eyeball it... I know with my set up, I can use 4 bricks coco, and then add my other stuff from there, I can feel the texture and cosistency of the substrate, when you do it enough times, it just feels right.
Enough failure brings success eventually.
I do not use casing.

Well, I didn't have time to take pictures this morning, but I picked my second tub, and WOW!!!!!!
Let me try to explain that I have never had back to back grows go this well! IO think that after this one is done, I am going to shut her down for a while, until I can work my stockpile down, and it's going to be a while for that! If I could legally get rid of them to people here, I would, but we all know how that goes.
I am not going to attmept to dunk these, since I always try to with these big tubs, and they always seem to want to fall apart, and then they are a bitch to drain anyways, so I will post a final dry weight with some pics of my bounty when the time comes.
Thanks for all the compliments, and keep your eyes open for the final weight.

WHOA MAN!!!! Potency is 9.5 out of 10 for these bad boys! I know they are only cubes, but DAMN MAN!!!!
I gave some to a few different people, I gave out 1/8ths and told them to eat as much as they thought they needed. Two people only ate 2 grams, and 4 ate the whole 18th, and wished they hadn't ate the whole thing! The trip was so intense, one friend had to be restrained from going anywhere for fear that he would endanger himself driving, or someone else for that matter.
The visuals came about 1.5 hours after eating, and lasted for a good 3 hours!!! It wasn't the normal roller coaster effect normally felt from cubes, this was a full on mind and body bender!
I am starting to wonder how or what is making my last couple batches so potent. the bird shit? the worm castings? soaking the bird seed in coffee? Damn man, what a blast!
As of right now, I am stepping down from growing for a while, I have WAY too many mushrooms to handle, and I am going to just relax and enjoy them from time to time.
Look for my next grow to be in a few months, maybe when spring breaks here.
I will post dry weight when it is ready, I am thoroughly drying these ones because I want them to last for a while!

Hmm, will I think I used 5 quarts spawn in one of the 45 gallon tubs, and my substrate was at least 3-4 inches deep, so I don't know exactly how much volume that is???? I tend to go the easy way, trying to stick to a strict regimen, and trying to go by the guidlines of others doesn't always work out for everybody, I do what works for me...
If I had to guess, I would say per brick or coir, I may have used a 1/2 cup fresh grounds. I know I used like 3 bricks per tub, plus the verm, worm castings, coffee, and quail and pigeon poo.

I used like a 1/3 of the total volume of verm compared to my coir. You just have to go by feel really, it's a texture thing I guess. You do it enough, and screw up enough, and spend more money than you originally planned a few times, and you become pretty good at not screwing it up anymore! LOL

Okay people, here is my dry weight... I let these babies set on my fan rack for at least five days, to get ALL the moisture out of them so they will keep longer...

I stuffed 8 ounces into each gallon size ziploc bag... I have around 3 ounces in the smaller quantity bag, I already gave away 3 ounces for people to test and explore.
TOTAL DRY WEIGHT 24 ounces
Chew on some of these babies! your in for a long night of partying!
